Thelonious

Thelonious Monk. He was a very strange, eccentric, and cool character — completely unique in every sense. Sometimes you just have to watch to fully enjoying listening.

  1. Man, is he great. The sax looks like Charles Mingus to me, but I don’t know if they acctually co-laborated. Where’s the piece from? Coltrane, Davis, Monk, Mingus are my four black apostles of jazz. Love them deeply!

    Sorin,

The Sax is Charlie Rouse. Yes, I love the four, as well as Eric Dolphy.

By the way, thanks for the book recommendation — I put the Captive Mind on my upcoming list!
