Saturday Sun

Here goes my second test at combining music with images. The song is “Saturday Sun” by Nick Drake, one of my bro’s favorites. The photos come from trips I made a few years back to Formentera, Fuerteventura, Paris, and also includes ones from home (Bethany Beach, Georgetown, and Potomac). I know, I should stick to writing.

Note: Based on James’ feedback, I made some alterations to the video and even added in photos from Marrakech and Asturias. Sorry, but I didn’t have time to work on the fading.

  1. Not bad at all cugino.

Music is a nice fit for the visuals. The only criticism would be the speed of the slides, and the hard flip from image to image. The hard image movement goes against the nice melody and smooth flow of the musical piece.

Maybe try a fading or shifting technique and slow down the passes a bit?

(just my perspective, grain of salt, no need to go nukular if you don’t agree. 🙂 )

I had no idea what I was doing. It took me long enough. Hopefully, next time I will figure it out!

  3. What software are you using to create the presentation?

I’m sure I can help you find some utilities/other programs that might make it easier for you to do.

pretty cool. the images are a bit too happy for this song though.

I don’t necessarily agree. The song is nostalgic and sad. But the photos also represent that. The song talks about people and places. The photos are of places, but you never see the people. You only see beautiful places without the people that theoretically would be there to make you happy. Furthermore, most of the pictures are from overcast days. Sometimes the sun comes through and other times it is rainy. It ends with a lone person in the distance. OK, fine, I am not gran artist, but it is a decent attempt.

Anyways, it is a great song.

i’m not hating. it is amazing that you put that together and i enjoyed it. And i appreciate the song selection. I was just voicing my unhelpful opinion.
