Too Much Jazz

I know I am talking too much about Jazz, but after listening to “Stolen Moments” again just now, I couldn’t get enough of Bill Evans‘ piano (he is from Plainsfield, NJ, right next door to where my mother is from). In any event, I thought I would also share with you some of my other favorite jazz pieces as well:

lee-morgan-sidewinder.jpg

Lee Morgan’s hard bob “The Sidewinder”.

coltrane-blue-train-01.JPG

John Coltrane’s classic “Blue Train”.

monk_200.jpg

The lost archive of John Coltrane and Thelonious Monk playing together Live at Carnegie Hall.

mccoy-tyner-real-mccoy-002.JPG

McCoy Tyner, who made himself famous for playing the piano in the best years of the John Coltrane Quartet.

andrew-hill-black-fire.jpg

Andrew Hill’s innovative piano on Black Fire.

Roy Haynes.jpg

And I will stop now with Roy Haynes (accompanied by Tommy Flanagan on piano and Roland Kirk on about 4 different wind instruments).
